Trollhättan has a rich history connected to engineering and space. Ariane Cross is an annual running event held in Europe with approximately 700 participants, all engineers from various companies in the Space sector.
Storytelling and Virtual Reality
When we organized Ariane Cross, we wanted to allow visitors to experience Trollhättan’s history. Upon arriving at their hotel rooms, participants received a pair of VR glasses and a QR code to scan. In a film created along the route of the running event – along the Trollhätte Canal Park – familiar figures appeared, sharing their connection to Trollhättan. First, participants met Nicole Kidman, who filmed several movies here in Trollywood. Then, they encountered Nils Ericsson – the man behind the entire infrastructure development of the Trollhätte Canal – and finally, Gunnar W Larsson appeared along the running track.
History, present, and future vision
In the evening during dinner, all guests were captivated by a stunning performance from the talented students of Trollhättan’s N3 Culture School. Accompanied by the symphony orchestra, they delivered an unforgettable musical experience that left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
The participants also had the opportunity to meet the CEOs of Film i Väst and GKN Aerospace, as well as the rector of the University West, all of whom contributed with exciting insights throughout the evening. The entire event was incredibly successful, with participants experiencing exceptional hospitality for their specific event, while also gaining a glimpse into Trollhättan’s history, present, and future vision.
